The bronze statuette of a Swift that was presented to the province by the St John Eye Hospital Group in Jerusalem continues to wing its way happily across south Wales.
This graceful model has already been transported by the host preceptory to the next preceptory in line on five different occasions. It is a strong visual reminder - and recognition - of the generosity of Welsh Knights.
It began its journey in Neath in July 2019 (at Castell Need Preceptory) and travelled to Swansea in September (Lord Swansea Preceptory).
In the following month, it was taken to Narberth (St David’s Preceptory) and in November it was handed on to Bridgend (Cefn Ydfa Preceptory).
In February 2020 it made a second appearance in Swansea (at Holy Palestine Preceptory) and in April it is due to arrive in Llanelli (Giraldus Cambrensis Preceptory).
Thereafter, it is scheduled to travel to Porthcawl (Sant Madoc Preceptory) in June, Penarth (Morganwg Preceptory) in September and Newport (Gwent Preceptory) in November.
Next year it is destined to arrive in Treharris (Fforest Preceptory) in February, Chepstow (Sir William Marshall Preceptory) in March, Brecon (Brecknock Castle Preceptory) in June and Cardiff in September, before making a return to Brecon (at Owain Glyndwr Preceptory) in December.
The completed tour of the province will end at Aberaeron in February 2022.
All members of the province are warmly encouraged to attend any of these meetings and lend their support.
