The Masonic Hall in Narberth was the focus for a large gathering of Malta knights from right across southern Wales in March.
Three new Brethren were admitted to the Order in a well-delivered ceremony that was followed by a full Installation – both being conducted by E Kt Peter Gregory, the Eminent Prior of St David’s Priory No 568, with assistance from E Kt John Everett and E Kt James Driscoll.
The Provincial Prior, R E Kt Dr Paul Calderwood, congratulated the newest members of the Order and invested each of them with a breast jewel.
They were Kt David Powell of Sir William Marshall Preceptory based in Chepstow and Kts Brian Dowling and Guy Sillett of Cefn Ydfa Preceptory in Bridgend.
This was one of just three occasions during the course of the year when it is possible for candidates to be admitted to the Order.
The last two opportunities for Templar Knights to join the Order this year will be on Tuesday 16th June, when Temple Slebech Priory will meet at Bridgend, and on Saturday 14th November, when the Provincial Priory of Malta meeting will be held in Llanelli.
Immediately after the admission of the new members to the Order at Narberth in March, E Kt Peter Gregory conducted the Full Malta Installation ceremony, placing his successor, E Kt Basil Phillips, in the chair of this distinguished Priory.
Over fifty knights attended this colourful occasion and afterwards they enjoyed a fine refectory together.
